Being Creative AND Professional
Yes, even visionaries benefit from another pair of eyes on their work...
Last week, my friend, who’s in the midst of redesigning her business, invited me to tea. She has more than a dozen certifications, loads of advanced skills & works in many realms including shamanism, past-life hypnosis, reiki, hands-on healing, trancework, energetic art & holistic psychotherapy.
It’s obvious why we’re friends…😉
She knows she shares many similarities with my clients & asked me to give her a walk-through of my Creatrix Energy System.
I came over with some paper & a pen, asked her lots of questions and in a bit more than an hour (we did take a few moments to drink our London Fog tea & nibble dark chocolate), I showed her where her energy was getting wrapped up in distracting, old stories including one about what she can/should offer her clients & another about how being creative gets in the way of being professional.
Basically, I gave her an impromptu Creatrix Balance Review.
It turns out that she’d been telling herself that her work is just a mishmash of all the modalities she practices. One day she billed herself out as a reiki master, the next as a psychotherapist & another as a shamanic practitioner.
Here’s what’s interesting…
Each time a client booked a session with her; she’d give the person the perfect mix of methods which she knew they needed BUT she wasn’t acknowledging the incredible value of her ability to confidently combine her skills to suit each situation.
It was all rather confusing for her AND her potential clients and it was wrecking havoc with her personal energy systems (& her bank account).
During the Review, I showed her
how to reconfigure her kind-hearted desire to offer her clients a lot but charge them way too little in a way which resonates with her personal values,
gave her insights into how a suite of offers which leads seamlessly from “beginner to advanced” could raise her client retention rates (& income) and
an outline of how she can weave her abilities through her business while still feeling super creative.
As we spoke, I gave her tools to enable her to balance her energy so she can maintain these new awarenesses as she makes changes in her business.
By the time I gathered my things to go home, she knew where she’d been holding herself back & how by shifting her energy (& positioning) around a few key points, she could offer a more potent experience to her clients.
And, she saw how she could move from charging by the session (at the local “going” rate) to offering a complete, innovative solution to her clients along with an investment level which matches the life-changing results they enjoy after working with her.
She was so excited to finally know the best places to direct her attention as she continues building her creative, spiritually-inspired business.
